Types of Forex Bonuses

Forex brokers use bonuses to attract new clients and reward deposits. Most offers fall into one of three types, and each comes with its own rules for how the bonus is credited and when it can be withdrawn.

No Deposit Bonus

A no deposit bonus is credited when you open and verify a new account, without funding it. You can trade with it, but the bonus itself usually can't be withdrawn. Profits made with it can often be withdrawn once you have traded a set number of lots, and many brokers cap the amount of profit you can take out. XM, Tickmill and Windsor Brokers currently offer this type.

Deposit Bonus

A deposit bonus adds a percentage of your deposit as extra trading credit, for example FIBO Group's 30% bonus up to $25,000 or Windsor Brokers' 20–100% bonus. Vantage and XM also offer deposit bonuses. The bonus is usually released step by step as you trade. At FIBO Group, for example, you need 1 round-turn lot for every $5 of bonus. If you withdraw funds before the condition is met, the bonus is often removed.

Welcome Bonus

A welcome bonus is a one-time reward for new clients, such as RoboForex's $30 bonus or Windsor Brokers' cash reward. Conditions are similar to the other types.

How to compare offers: look beyond the bonus amount. Check how many lots you need to trade, whether profits are capped, what happens when you withdraw, and when the offer ends. Bonuses are also not available in every country, as brokers often restrict them by region and regulator, so check the terms for where you live.

Using a Bonus Together With BrokerFlat Cashback

You can take a broker bonus and still earn BrokerFlat cashback, but cashback is only paid on trades made with your own funds. No broker pays cashback on volume traded with bonus funds, including the lots you trade to unlock a bonus.

Forex Bonus FAQ

A no deposit bonus is trading credit a broker gives you without requiring a deposit. You can trade with it, and profits become withdrawable once you meet the broker's conditions.

A no deposit bonus needs no money from you. A welcome bonus is offered to new clients and usually requires a first deposit, verification or a minimum trading volume.

Usually the bonus credit itself can't be withdrawn, but profits made with it can be once the broker's conditions are met. Some offers turn into withdrawable cash after a set trading volume.

No. Availability depends on your country of residence and on the broker entity your account is opened with, and some regulators don't allow bonuses at all.

We check the brokers' official terms regularly and remove expired offers. The date of the last check is shown on this page.
