Orbex was founded in 2010. Its services are provided by Orbex Global Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, and Orbex Limited, which holds Securities Dealer licence SD110 from the Seychelles Financial Services Authority. Orbex gave up its Cyprus (CySEC) licence in 2025, so clients are now served by these offshore companies. Client funds are kept in segregated accounts, and negative balance protection applies to all account types.

Orbex offers CFDs on forex, stocks, cryptocurrencies, indices, futures and commodities on MetaTrader 4, available on desktop, web and mobile. It does not serve residents of the USA, Iran, North Korea, Mauritius, Russia, Myanmar and Romania.

Orbex's entry-level account suits new traders, while its higher tiers offer raw spreads with a commission for more active traders and larger balances. Swap-free (Islamic) trading and a demo account are available.
